Rhinoceros is an all round 3D freeform surface modeling product used worldwide by designers, engineers, architects and manufacturers. Rhino, Rhino v4 and Rhino3D are some of the common names people refer to this well know product made by McNeel & Associates for the Windows operating system. Some customers use Rhino for every part of their design process, others use it as a compliment to their own CAD or CAM system. Its so affordable you can use with most things like our MicroScribe digitisers, desktop prototyping machines and Mayka SRP software.

As one of McNeel's european resellers we choose to supply the Rhino solutions and services that compliment the core products that we supply to both commercial and educational markets. We are not a shop selling everything, as we feel we cannot give everything our best attention, which dilutes the efforts of working closely with you the customer.

Rhinoceros 3D is now available in the new version 4. A point we have to raise it that there are so many new features that it is fantastic, however, if you have purchased any 3rd party softwares that work in your existing Rhino v3.0, then make sure the supplier has updated and tested them in Rhino version 4.0

Start with a sketch, drawing, physical model, or only an idea and Rhino provides with the tools to accurately model your designs ready for all types for applications. Rhino needs only your imagination and an ordinary Windows PC (or a fast Apple Macintosh with Windows in Boot Camp start-up or under Parallels). Note a Macintosh version is being developed and maybe available near the end of 2008.To create, edit, analyze, and translate NURBS curves, surfaces, and solids in Windows, Rhino is the solution. There are no limits on complexity, degree, or size. Rhino also has fantastic support for creating and editing polygon meshes. Model any shape you can imagine.

Rhino provides an affordable enviroment with:- Accuracy, Compatibility, Speed and Accessibility, needed to design, prototype, engineer, analyse, and manufacture anything from an airplane to fine piece of jewellery or china., or just to learn about 3D.!

For an all round digitising enviroment, Rhino directly supports the MicroScribe's, plus it reads in DXF/STL from the Roland Picza. For the production of CNC milling paths, design data is easily transfered to Mayka or othe CNC machining applications.

Another thing not to be confused on are the McNeel products. These main products are Rhinoceros (Rhino) for all your design work, then there are three other main applications that run inside Rhino. Flamingo that brings the raytrace and radiosity rendering to Rhino, Penguin that brings freehand sketching, watercolor painting and cartoon-like rendering to Rhino and Bongo that brings professional animation into Rhino using familiar keyframe tools.

Then there are 100's of add-on's from 3rd parties, some with the words Rhino in their name. Beware these are not neccessarily Rhino products and depending on versions may not be compatible.

An Educational Single User License is a full-featured commercial license at a special price. It is for students, faculty (teachers, instructors, and professors), and schools, colleges and universities only (proof of status is required). Educational versions are the same as the commercial versions but the license cannot be resold.

An educational Lab Kit is total package for schools, colleges and universities only. Its license is to use Rhino on all the computers in a single classroom or lab and the instructor's computer. A network is not required, but prefered. Or it can be a floating license to use Rhino on 30 computers in a department. A network and the Zoo is required to manage the licences.
