The standard spinning stylus includes a rotary encoder and has the option to add a transducer mount for fixing of other equipment. The spinning stylus models are normally only purchased for special applications where the user is developing their own attachments and specialised software. The MicroScribe system supplies a new, more cost-effective alternative for manufactured parts inspection, reverse engineering, and high-accuracy 3D digitizing Immersion qualifies the MicroScribe MX systems' high accuracy using its Tri-Test Calibration(TM) Method. This test methodology aligns to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers' B89.4.22 draft specification for evaluating performance of articulated arm coordinate measurement machines (CMMs).
